حف حطم Broken pieces; fragments of eggs; the shell of the egg حُطَامُ الدُّنْيَا : The perishable goods of the present world. ثُمَّ يَكُوْنُ حُطَامًا : Then it becomes chaff or broken pieces )57:21( حُطَمَةٌ : A vehement fire that breaks in pieces everything that is cast into it; it is also a name for Hell or Hell-fire; a man who eats much i. e. breaks everything in eating as also حُطَمٌ ; an insatiable man; a large number of camels and sheep or goats; a paster having little mercy upon the cattle. الْحَطِيْمُ : The wall of the حَجَرٌ of the Ka'ba. لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ : Shall he hurled into the crushing fire or disaster (104:5). حَظَرَ ]aor. يَحْظُرُ inf. noun حَظَرَهُ [حَظِّرًا : He forbade it; prohibited it; interdicted it; حُظِرَ عَلَيْهِ كَذَا : Such a thing was debarred from him by something intervening. حَظَرَهُ : He took it to or for himself. حَظَرَ : He made a حَظِيرَةٌ for another he confined cattle in a حَظِيْرَةٌ i. e. an enclosure of wood or of canes or reeds for camels, goats or sheep to protect them. وَمَا كَانَ عَطَاءُ رَبِّكَ مَحْظُوْرًا : And the gift of thy Lord is not restricted )17:21( الْمَحْظُوْرُ : Forbidden; interdicted; restricted. مُحْتَظِرٌ : The maker of a حَظِيْرَةٌ i. e. enclosure. فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيْمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ : They were like the dry fragment of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects (54:32). ]aor. يَحَظِّ inf. noun حَظٌ[ : He was or became rich, wealthy, or in a state of competence or sufficiency. حَظٍّ : Fortune; good fortune; a share, portion or lot or a share or portion of something good. لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَقِّ الْأَنْثَيَيْنِ : For male is like the share of two females )4:12( إِنَّهُ لَذُوْ حَقًّ عَظِيمٍ : Truely, he possessed of حَظ mighty good fortune (28:80). 2 حَفَّ ]aor. يَحُقُّ and يَحِقُّ inf. noun حَفَّوْهُ حَقًّا and حَفَّوْا بِهِ and حَقَّوْا لَهُ : They went round about him, circuited or surrounded it or him. حَقَّ الْقَوْمُ بِالْبَيْتِ : The people circuited the House of God. حَفَّتْهُمُ الْحَاجَةُ : Want beset them. حَفَّهُ بِشَيْءٍ : He surrounded it or him with the thing. حَفَفْتَهُ بِهِهم : I surrounded it or him with them. وَحَفَفْنَاهُمَا بِنَخْلٍ : And We surrounded them with date palm )18:33( حَافٌ : Going round about, circuiting or surrounding; one who goes round about, circuits etc. وَتَرَى الْمَلِئِكَةَ حَافِّيْنَ مِنْ حَوْلِ 192
