جمع assembly; a company, troop, party or groups of men; a collective body; an army; a military force; a herd, a flock of birds; a pack. جَمَعْنَاهُمْ جَمْعًا : We shall gather them all together )18:100(. وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا : And greater in assemblage (party, company, assembly )2879( جَمْعَانِ : يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ dual of جَمْع The day when the two parties or armies met )3:16( جَمْع )plural of سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ . ( جَمْعِ : Soon shall the hosts be routed 28 Upon Us rests the collecting of it and : إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ . (54:46) the reciting of it )75:18( يَوْمُ الْجَمْعِ : The Day of Resurrection; an important day when a certain people assemble at a certain place 28 28 28 to decide a momentous matter. وَتُنْذِرَ يَوْمَ الْجَمْعِ : Give warning of the Day of Gathering )428( جَمْعُ and جَمَاعَةٌ and مَجْمَعُ are synonymous, meaning an assembly of a party, group or company of men مَجْمَع also means a place of meeting; an assembly room; the whole of anything. حَتَّى أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ : Until I reach the junction of the two seas )1861( جَمِيعُ : In a state of collection or union; being together; met together. قَوْم جَمِيع : A people met together. رَجُلٌ جَمِيعُ الرَّأْيِ : A man of right, not unsettled or disordered judgement. جَعَلَ الْأَمْرَجَمِيعًا بَعْدَ تَفْرِقَةٍ : He decided upon the affair or made it firmly settled after it had been unsettled. جَمِيع syn. with جَمْع meaning a host; an army. ام يَقُوْلُوْنَ نَحْنُ جَمِيْعٌ مُّنْتَصِرٌ : Or do they say that we are a victorious host allied together to help each other )54:45( مَجْمُوعٌ : 28 Collected; assembled; drawn or brought together from several 28 28 28 places. ذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّجْمُوْعٌ لَّهُ النَّاسُ : That is a day when people will be collected or brought together )11:10( جَامِع : Collecting; that collects. الْمَسْجِدُ الْجَامِعُ : The mosque where people congregate for Friday Prayers. مِصْرٌ جَامِعُ : A town of large population. أَمْرٌ جَامِع : An affair which brings people together; a momentous affair for the consideration of which people collect i. e. it brings them together. إِذَا كَانُوا مَعَهُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ جَامِعِ : When they are with him on an important matter which has brought them together )2463( جامع also means the belly. جَوَامِعُ is plural of جامِع : The Holy Prophet is reported to have said أُوْتِيْتُ جَوَامِعَ الْكَلِمِ : I have been given the Qur'an in which great and many meanings are comprised in a 143 28 28 جمع
