جدل جدث 28 are streaks white and red )35:28( جُدَدٌ )singular( جُدَّةٌ( : A beaten road or way; a road leading to water; a main road; a sign; the bank or side of a river; shore of the sea; a streak or stripe that is on the back of an ass, differing his general colour; a streak in anything, as in a mountain differing in colour from the rest of the mountain. اِجْتَنَّ ) إِجْتَدَتَ جَدَتْ ( : He made for himself a grave or sepulchre. جَدَثٌ )plural( أَجْدَاتُ( : A grave; a sepulchre. يَخْرُجُوْنَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ : They will come out of graves. (54:8) وو جَدَرَ ]aor. يَجْدُرُ inf. noun جَدْرًا [ : He built, made or founded a wall of enclosure. جَدْرَ ]aor. يَجْدُرُ inf. noun جُدَارَةٌ He or it was or became adapted, apt, meet, suited, suitable, fit, proper. جَدْرَ به : He was or became adapted, apt etc. for it. جَدُرَ أَنْ يَّفْعَلَ كَذَا : He was or became adapted, fit etc. for doing such a thing. جَدَرَهُ : He made or called him or it adapted, suitable, competent etc. مَا أَجْدَرَ بِالْخَيْرِ : How fit is he for what is good. جَدْرٌ also جِدَارٌ : A wall or a wall of enclosures; the foundation or side of a wall; a fence or dam raised of branches to retain water (plural( )وَأَجْدَرُ أَلَّا يَعْلَمُوا (جُدُرٌ حُدُودَ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ : And they are most apt not to know the ordinances of the Revelation which Allah has sent down (9:97): وَأَمَّا الْجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلَامَيْنِ يَتِيْمَيْنِ : And the wall belonged to two orphan boys )18:83( أَوْ مِنْ وَّرَاءِ جُدُرٍ : Or from behind the walls )59:15(. جَدَلَ ]aor. يَجْدُلُ and يَجْدِلُ inf. noun جَدَلَ الْحَبْلَ جَدْلٌ : He twisted the rope firmly; he made it firm, strong or compact. جَارِيَةٌ حَسَنَةُ الْجَدْلِ : A girl of beautiful build. جَدِلَ aor. يَجْدَلُ inf. noun جَدَلٌ( : He contended in an altercation, disputed or litigated, vehemently. جَادَلَهُ )inf. noun مُجَادَلَةٌ and جِدَالٌ( : He contended in an altercation or disputed or litigated with him; he did so vehemently and ably or did so powerfully or obstinately or merely for the purpose of convincing him. مُجَادَلَةٌ signifies the disputing respecting a question of science for the purpose of convincing the opponent, whether what he says be wrong or not.
