جثم جحد وند body. اِجْتَتَّتْ مِنْ فَوْقِ الْأَرْضِ : Uprooted from above the earth (14:27). 28 28 جَتَمَ ]aor. يَجْثَمُ and يَجْتُمُ inf. noun جَتَمَ اللَّيْلُ جُنُوْمٌ : The night has gone half. جَثَمَ الطَّائِرُ : The bird clove to the ground or fell upon its breast. They also use it as جَتَمَ الرَّجُلُ وَالْحَيَوَانُ : The man or the beast sat. جُشُوم in the case of a bird is like بُرُوفٌ in the case of a camel and like جُلُوْسٌ in the case of a man. تَجَثْمَ : Bird mounted its female for the purpose of copulation. جَاثِمٌ )plural جَاثِمُوْنَ or جَاثِمِينَ( : A bird a hare, a camel or a man cleaving to the ground or falling upon his breast. فَأَصْبَحُوْا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ : They lay prostrate upon the ground )7:79( جَاثِمٌ also means, extinct; motionless; dead. جَتَا و لگ ]aor. يَجْنُو inf. noun جُشُوًّا and جَتَى aor. يَجْنِي inf. noun جُشِيًّا and جَنْيًا جَنَّا عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ : He sat upon his knees; he knelt; fell upon his knees; he stood upon the extremities of his toes; he put down his knees upon the ground and raised his buttocks جُنَّا or جُنَّى : A company or congregated body of men. جَاثِ : One sitting upon his knees; standing upon the extremities of his toes; simply sitting; putting his knees upon the ground and raising his buttocks (plural جُشِيٌّ and جَاثِيَةٌ جِثِيٌّ : )feminine of تَرى جَاثٍ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً : Thou will see every people sitting upon their knees )45:29( in a upright posture, not at ease. وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيْهَا جِثِيًّا : And We will leave the wrong-doers on their knees (19:73). جَحَدَ ]aor. يَجْحَدُ inf. noun جَحْدٌ and جَحَدَهُ جُحُوْدٌ : He denied a thing; he disacknowledged it; he disbelieved it; he belied it. جَحَدَ حَقَّهُ أَوْ بحَقِّهِ : He denied or disacknowledged his right knowing it to be such. جَحَدَهُ also means, he found him to be niggardly or to possess no good. جَحِدَ : He was or became niggardly or possessed little good جَحِدَتِ الْاَرْضُ : The land became dry and of no good. جَحِدَ عَامُنَا : Our year was or became one of little rain. جَحْدٌ and جُحْدٌ and جَحَدٌ : Paucity or scantiness of good; poverty. باياتِ اللهِ : They denied or rejected the Signs of Allah بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُوْنَ Will they deny the favours of Allah : أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُوْنَ (6:34) )16:72( جَحَدَ عَنِ الْأَمْرِ : He prevented him from the affair. 128
