The Descent of the Messiah — Page xv

FOREWORD Nuzūlul-Masih was written by the Promised Messiah, Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas of Qadian that forms part of the 18th volume of his collection of writings known as the Rühānī Khazā'in. For the first time, the English translation is being published entitled The Descent of the Messiah. The subject matter of the book begins by discussing the prophecy of the Promised Messiahas published in his previous book, Dāfiʻul-Balā', that the town of Qadian would be saved from the severest type of plague known as the sweeper—since it swept up many in its fold towards death. Furthermore, the Promised Messiahas challenged the leaders of other faiths to make a similar prophecy about their own town or city, and if they did, it would inevitably succumb to the destruction of the plague. In response to this, the editor of Paisa Akhbar Lahore began to spread misinformation and false reports in relation to this Divine protection of Qadian. The Promised Messiahas responds to these false claims. XV
