اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ ۙ﴿۲﴾

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ ۙ﴿۳﴾

The Gracious, the Merciful,

يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

{Who} observe Prayer.

رَبَّنَا وَابۡعَثۡ فِیۡہِمۡ رَسُوۡلًا مِّنۡہُمۡ یَتۡلُوۡا عَلَیۡہِمۡ اٰیٰتِکَ وَیُعَلِّمُہُمُ الۡکِتٰبَ

‘And, our Lord, raise up among them a Messenger from

لَوۡلَا یَنۡہٰہُمُ الرَّبّٰنِیُّوۡنَ وَالۡاَحۡبَارُ عَنۡ قَوۡلِہِمُ الۡاِثۡمَ وَاَکۡلِہِمُ السُّحۡتَ ؕ

Why do not the divines and those learned in the

وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسۡمَعُواْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ

And fear Allah and hearken. And Allah guides not the disobedient people.

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ وَکُوۡنُوۡا مَعَ الصّٰدِقِیۡنَ ﴿۱۱۹﴾

O ye who believe! fear Allah and be with the

لَئِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمۡ

‘If you are grateful, I will, surely, bestow more favours on you.’

إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِ

Surely, Prayer restrains one from indecency and manifest evil.

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

اَوَلَمۡ یَہۡدِ لَہُمۡ کَمۡ اَہۡلَکۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ مِّنَ الۡقُرُوۡنِ یَمۡشُوۡنَ

Does it not guide them how many a generation We

اَوَلَمۡ یَرَوۡا اَنَّا نَسُوۡقُ الۡمَآءَ اِلَی الۡاَرۡضِ الۡجُرُزِ فَنُخۡرِجُ بِہٖ

Have they not seen that We drive the water to

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ وَلۡتَنۡظُرۡ نَفۡسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ لِغَدٍ

O ye who believe! fear Allah; and let every soul

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الۡمُزَّمِّلُ ۙ﴿۲﴾

O thou who art bearing a heavy responsibility,

قُمِ الَّیۡلَ اِلَّا قَلِیۡلًا ۙ﴿۳﴾

Stand up in Prayer at night except a small portion

نِّصۡفَہٗۤ اَوِ انۡقُصۡ مِنۡہُ قَلِیۡلًا ۙ﴿۴﴾

Half of it, or make it a little less than

اَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَیۡہِ وَرَتِّلِ الۡقُرۡاٰنَ تَرۡتِیۡلًا ؕ﴿۵﴾

Or make it a little more than that — and

فَذَکِّرۡ ۟ؕ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنۡتَ مُذَکِّرٌ ﴿ؕ۲۲﴾

Admonish, therefore, for thou art but an admonisher;

لَسۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ بِمُصَۜیۡطِرٍ ﴿ۙ۲۳﴾

Thou hast no authority to compel them.
