Foreword After receiving repeated revelations about his impending demise, the Promised Messiah, Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as, had written al-Wa s iyyat [] in 1905. The Promised Messiah as documents the mighty revelations in which Allah the Almighty assures him that he will leave this world with great honour, although rampant death and destruction would follow across the globe. These ‘earthquakes’ will give the disbelievers a taste of the Day of Judgment, but firm believers shall have nothing to fear. This booklet details a grand scheme for those who wish to make exemplary personal and financial sacrifices for the cause of Islam, as well as the establishment of a cemetery called Bahisht i Maqbarah [the Heavenly Graveyard]. The Promised Messiah as expressed delight in this initiative, stating that those who were a Jama'at in life would also be seen as a Jam a ‘at even after death ( Malfuzat, entry dated 8 Dec 1905). The Promised Messiah as also comforts his followers regard- ing his impending death, making it clear that Almighty Allah would care for the fledgling Jam a ‘at in the same way He did for the Ummah after the demise of the Holy Prophet s as. Specifically, he alludes to the example of Hadrat Abu Bakr ra being raised as the Khalifah to further promote and perpetuate the mission of the Holy Prophet s as. Similarly, the Promised Messiah as affirms that he was sent to merely sow the seed—Allah would inspire others to enable the Message to firmly take root in the hearts of men
