Shams, writer of ?, met with such immense success that he has had six previous editions printed and also translated into sev- eral other languages. It faces resolutely the incident of the appar- ent death of Jesus Christ (on whom be peace) on the Cross; he demonstrates in this very readable book exactly what really hap- pened. This book should be of real help in promoting a more rational discussion of the subject. A scholar of vast learning, Maulana J. D. Shams had a dis- tinguished career as a leading missionary of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, and from 1936–1946 he was the Imam of the London Mosque; the book was written during his term of office in England. Because of the perpetual interest shown in this impor- tant subject, he had expressed the intention of printing this book in fairly superior quality. By the benevolence and mercy of God, this edition is an attempt to fulfil this desire to coincide with the International Conference on Deliverance of Jesus from the Cross scheduled to be held in June 1978 in London.
