At a time when the overwhelming majority of Jews and Christians were content to condemn Jesus as to an accursed death, the Holy Prophet saw glorified Christ stating that God had revealed to him that Jesus as did not die on the cross; rather, he only appeared to have died on the cross [Quran 3:158].
