All such points of resemblance arise from the fact of Jesus’ visit to India, which was a piece of good fortune for the followers of the Buddhists’ faith from his staying among them for a considerable time. In my opinion this is the reasonable explanation and a satisfactory answer to the question: ‘How did the events of Jesus’ life and his teachings creep into Buddhist literature and become ascribed to Gautama Buddha?’
