WA S IYYAT RULES 50 INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAJLIS KARPARDAZ MA SA LI H QABRIST A N Under Rule No. 35 of the Wa s iyyat Rules The following points should be considered at the time of granting approval to a new Wa s iyyat :- (1). Examine the sacrifice of the prospective M usi in Obligatory Chandas as well as other Financial Schemes of the Jam a‘ at. (2). Men and women have equal rights and responsibilities as far as the eligibility and qualification for Wa s iyyat is concerned. (3). If the prospective M usi has transferred any property to his/her wife/husband or any son/daughter or any other person prior to undertaking the Will either as a gift or as a legacy, bequest, inheritance or testamentary disposition, the entire transaction is to be examined thoroughly with a view to ensure that the element of outstanding financial sacrifice and the spirit and purpose of Wa s iyyat is not in anyway defeated. (4). Examine whether the standard of living of the prospective M usi conforms to the income stated in the Will. (5). If the age of the prospective M usi is 60 years or above then, if Majlis Karpardaz deems necessary, the following may be asked for him: i. What has been his / her maximum income per month / year. ii. and why could he / she not undertake the Wa s iyyat at an earlier stage.
