Understanding S al A t 196 ourselves. When we ‘bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah,’ we should look in our heart to see if our existence has any importance in that moment. If it does not, then our index finger gives true testimony that indeed there is only The One and no one else. The Holy Prophet sas said, It (the index finger) is harder on Satan than (being beaten with) iron. ( Musnad Ahmad , narrated by ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar, 5964) ________ O _________ عَلَى مُحَمَّد ٍ وَّعَلَى آل ِ مُحَمَّد ٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْت َ عَلَى ِّ ٌ اَللَّهُم َّ صَل اِبْرَاهِيْم َ وَعَلَى آل ِ اِبْرَاهِيْم َ اِنَّك َ حَمِيْد ٌ مَّجِيْد ٌ اَللَّهُم َّ بَـارِك ْ عَلَى مُحَمَّد ٍ وَّعَلَى آل ِ مُحَمَّد ٍ كَمَا بَـارَكْت َ عَلَى اِبْرَاهِيْم َ وَعَلَى آل ِ اِبْرَاهِيْم َ اِنَّك َ حَمِيْد ٌ مَّجِيْد O Allah, bless Muhammad and his people, as You did bless Ibrāhīm and his people. You are indeed the Praiseworthy, the Glorious. O Allah, prosper Muhammad and his people, as You did
