Understanding S al A t 90 The bowing position, which is the second posture in Prayer, demonstrates that one submits themselves by lowering their head in preparation to fulfil any command that may be given to them, as it were. (Malf uzā t (English), vol. 1, pp. 161) At the end of the recitation, the Imam goes from the Standing position to the Bowing position, Ruk ū ‘ , by calling out All ā hu Akbar. …In this posture, the right hand of the worshipper should press the right knee and the left hand the left knee, and the upper half of the body from the waist to the head is kept level and horizontal to the ground. In the Bowing posture the following Tasb īh is recited silently three times or more in odd numbers: ( S al ā t-The Muslim Prayer Book , pp. 41) ِ ى َ الْعَظِيْم ِّ سُبْحَان َ رَب Holy is My Lord, the Most Great َ ى ِّ سُبْحَان َ رَب Holy is my Lord The word Rabb means “Lord” with a primary Gradual spiritual progress
