Regarding the above quotation, Maulawi Muhammad Ali is reported to have said that at the time to which this quotation from the Review relates, he was busy with the translation of the Holy Quran, and could not devote sufficient attention to The Review of Religions , and that therefore any matter published in The Review of Religions at the time cannot fairly be cited against him.
