[ 54 ] Meaning that, Hadrat ‘Al i Ibn Ab i Ta lib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When Ibr a h i m, son of the Holy Prophet sa passed away, the Holy Prophet sa had Ibr a h i m’s mother Mariya bathe him and wrap him in a shroud. Thereafter, the Holy Prophet sa brought the body out. He walked to the cemetery with his companions and buried him. He then put his hand on Ibr a h i m’s grave and said ‘By God, he is a Prophet and a son of a Prophet. ’ (see al- Fat a wal- H ad i thiyyah by Ibn-e- H ajar, p. 176) Hadrat ‘Al i was a member of the family, therefore, his narration is fuller and more descriptive. The Real Significance of H ad i th L a Nabiyya Ba‘d i 11 The above event took place about four years after the verse Kh a taman-Nabiyy i n was revealed. Holy men and scholars in the past must have read this h ad i th and the h ad i th con- taining L a Nabiyya ba‘d i that has been previously men- tioned. If we look for the interpretation of these a ha d i th , we note Hadrat Mull a ‘Al i al-Q a r i (died 1014 A. H. ) writing: 11.
