PRAYERS 28 ‘Wahh a b’. For example he would say, َِّ َْﺳُﺒۡﺤَﺎن َ رَىب اﻻ 2_ ٰ اﻟﻮَﻫَّﺎب Holy is my Lord the Most High, the ‘Bestower. ’ 30 ِّ ْرَب ِْاﻏْﻔِﺮ ْيل ِْوَﻫَﺐ يل َّﻣُﻠْ¤ًﺎ ْﻻ ٍﻳَْﺒَﻐِﻲ ِّﻷَِﺣَﺪ ْ ﻣ ﻦ م َﺑَﻌْﺪِي َإِﻧَّﻚ ُأَﻧْﺖ اﻟْﻮَﻫَّﺎب. ( Sa d 38: 36) O my Lord, grant me forgiveness and bestow on me a kingdom which none unworthy of it may possess after me. Surely, You are so Generous. 63. Prayer of Thanks for Righteous Actions and Pious Children It is mentioned in the traditions that the first person to offer this prayer was Hadrat Ab u -Bakr ra. His prayer was accepted and as a result his parents, brother and all his children accepted Islam. 31 ِّ ِْرَب ْأَوْز2ِْين َأَن َأَﺷْﻜُﺮ ِْﻧِﻌْﻤَﺘَﻚ ْاﻟَّيت َ أَﻧ َّﻌَﻤْﺖ 2َٰﻠَﻲ _َ2ََّو ْوَاﻟِﺪَي َوَأَن أَﻋْﻤَﻞ ُﺻَﺎحلًِﺎ ْﺗَﺮْﺿَﺎR ِْوَأَﺻْﻠِﺢ ِْيل ِْيف ِّذُرِّﻳَّيت ُإِين َﺗُﺒْﺖ ِّإِﻟَﻴْﻚ َوَإِين َْﻣِﻦ املُْﺴْﻠِﻤِني. (Al-A h q a f 46:16) My Lord, grant me power that I may be grateful for Your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do such good works as may please You. And make my seed righteous for me. I do turn to You; and truly, I am of those who submit to You. 64. Prayer of Thanks and for Piety When the army of Hadrat Sulaim a n as (Solomon) passed by the valley of Namlah, its inhabitants were afraid and hid themselves in their houses.
