PRAYERS 21 ُ َوَختُْﺮِج َاملَْﻴِّﺖ ِّﻣِﻦ ُاحلَْﻲ ْوَﺗَﺮْزُق ﻣَﻦ ُ ﺗَﺸَﺂ ِْء ﺑِﻐَري ﺣِﺴَﺎبٍ. ( A l-e-‘Imr a n 3: 27-28) O All a h , Lord of sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whomsoever You please; and You take away sovereignty from whomsoever You please. You exalt whomsoever You please and You abase whomsoever You please. In Your hand is all good. You surely have the power to do all things. You make the night pass into the day and You make the day pass into the night. And You bring forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. And You give to whomsoever You please without measure. 45. Prayer for Just Decision and Victory Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Abb a s ra relates that Hadrat Shu‘aib as (Jethro) despaired of his people's non-belief. He prayed to God for arbitration. As a result of this prayer his people were completely destroyed by an earthquake. 25 َ وَﺳِﻊ َّرَﺑُّﻨَﺎ Lٍُﻞ ﺷَﻲْء 2ِٰﻠْﻤًﺎ _َ2ِّٰ ْا ﺗَﻮLََّﻠ ﻨَﺎ ْرَﺑَّﻨَﺎ اﻓْﺘَﺢ َْﺑَﻴْŸَﻨَﺎ وَﺑَني ِّﻗَﻮْﻣِﻨَﺎ َﺑِﺎحلَْﻖ ُْوَأَﻧْﺖ َْﺧَري اﻟْﻔَﺎحتِِني. (Al-A‘r a f 7:90) Our Lord comprehends all things. In All a h have we put our trust. So, O our Lord, decide You between us and between our people with truth, and You are the Best of those who decide. 46. Cry for Help on being Overwhelmed When the denial of Hadrat N uh as ’s (Noah) people reached an extreme, they called him a liar and a madman. In vexation, Hadrat N uh as (Noah) prayed to God. ِّ ا ْين ٌ ﻣَﻐْﻠُﻮ ْب ﻓَﺎﻧْﺘَﺼِﺮ. (Al-Qamar 54:11) I am overcome, so come Thou to my help.
