PRAYERS 139 if he accepted Islam , he would teach him two beneficial prayers. When my father became a Muslim he reminded Holy Prophet sa of that promise. The Holy Prophet sa taught him this prayer: ِْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ اَهل ِْ ﻤ ْىن ْ رُﺷ ْﺪِی وَا2َِﺬ، ِْ ْىن ْﻣِﻦ ِْ ﺷَﺮِّﻧَﻔ º. 276 O All a h , pour forth piety and guidance in my heart and save me from the evil of myself. Hadrat Shakal bin H am i d ra requested the Holy Prophet sa to teach him a prayer, which would stop him from doing bad deeds. Holy Prophet sa held his hand and advised him to recite this prayer: ِّْ ْاَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اِىن ْ اَﻋُﻮ َْذ ُ ﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ ِْ ﺷَﺮ ِّ مس Ñْ َ،وَﻣِﻦ ْ ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﺑ ْﺼَﺮِی وَﻣِﻦ ،ِْ ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻟِﺴَﺎىن ،ْ ْوَﻣِﻦ ِْ ﺷَﺮِّ ﻗَﻠ ْ ىب ِّْ،وَﻣِﻦ ﺷَﺮِّ ﻫَىن. 277 O All a h , I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, sight, tongue, heart and private parts. Prayer for Deliverance from Satanic Influences Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra while relating the event of Isr a said, that a terrifying Satan was following the Holy Prophet sa and had a flame of fire. Angel Gabriel as taught the Holy Prophet sa a prayer and said that it would extinguish that flame and the Satan would be defeated. This is the prayer: ْ ْ اَﻋُﻮ ْ ذ ُ ﺑِﻮَﺟ ْ ª ِ اﷲ ِ اﻟ ِْ کَﺮِﻳ ٌّﻢ ِ ،وَﺑِ¤َﻠِﻤَﺎت ِ اﷲ ِ اﻟﺘَّﺎﻣَّﺎت ِ اﻟَّىت ْ ﻻ َ جيَُﺎوِزُﻫُﻦَّ ﺑَﺮ ِْوَّﻻ َ ﻓَﺎﺟِﺮٌ ،ﻣِﻦ ﻳَ ْ ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻣَﺎ ﻳَﻌ ْ ل ُ ﻣِﻦَ اﻟﺴَّﻤَﺎءِ ،وَ ﺷَﺮِّ ﻣَﺎ َ ﺮُجُ ﻓِﻴ ذَرَأ ،وَ ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻣَﺎ ْ ﻬَﺎ َْ ىف ِ اﻻَْر ْ ضِ،و َ ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻣَﺎ خي ْ ﺮُج ُ ﻣِﻨ ْﻬَﺎ ،وَﻣِﻦ ْ ﻓِنت َِ اﻟﻠَّﻴ ِﻞ ِ وَاﻟﻨَّﻬَﺎر ِ ،وَﻣِﻦ ْ ﻃَﻮَارِق ْ اﻟﻠَّﻴ ﻳَﻄ ٍْ ﻞِ اِﻻَّ ﻃَﺎرِﻗًﺎ َ ﺮُقُ خبَِري ر ﻳَﺎ ْ ﺣ ﻤٰﻦ. 278 I seek refuge in All a h 's Honourable Countenance. And I seek refuge in All a h 's perfect and comprehensive words, from which neither the pious nor the wicked can advance. I seek my Lord's protection from the evil which descends
