538 [Urdu] People came and made all sorts of claims. The lion of God seized them and the lion of God was victorious. Then it was revealed: [Persian] [ Step forth for your time has approached and the feet of the followers of Muhammad have been firmly established on a high tower ]. 558 [Urdu] Holy Muhammad sa , the Chosen [Prophet of God], the Chief of the Prophets. [Persian] [ And My Signs have been illumined ]. [Urdu] That will be a day greatly blessed. A Warner came into the world, but the world did not accept him; but God will accept him and will make his truth manifest by powerful assaults. A m i n. [Arba'in, no. 3, p. 38, R uha n i Khaz a ’in, vol. 17, p. 429] 558 The meaning of the sentence ‘feet of the followers of Muhammad have been firmly established on a high tower’ is that the Promised Messiah of the latter days, about whom all the prophets had prophesized, was born amongst the Muslims—even though the Jews and the Christians thought that he would be born amongst them. Hence the high tower of respect was given to the followers of Mu h ammad. The word [of Mu h ammad] has been used here to signify that those looking at only the apparent power and majesty of Islam – of which the word Muhammad is a manifestation—will now receive abundant Signs from the heavens. This is a requisite for the manifestation of Ahmad since the name Ahmad sa demands not only humility and submissiveness but also self-effacement of the highest degree—which is an essential requirement for expressing as well as deserving the true state of praise, devotion and deep love.
