 (American Edition)   16  companions of the Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) asked , “who are they, O messenger of Allāh? The Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) said, ‘they are the people who will follow my practice and that of my companions. ” (Tirmidhī, Kitā bul- Ī m ā n) Ḥ a ḍ rat Mullā Al ī Q ā r ī (d. 1606 A. D. ), the renowned commentator of Mishk ā t and a very admired Mu ḥ addith, has explained this Ḥadīth: ِ ُّنَّۃ ِ الْبَيْضَاء ْ ِفِ النَّار ِ وَالْفِرْقَۃ ُ النَّاجِيَۃ ُ ھُم ْ اَھْل ُ الس َکُُّھُم ا َبْعُوْن َ فِرْقَۃ تِلْک َ اثْنَتَان ِ وَس الْمُحَمَّدِیَّۃ ِ و َ الطَّرِیْقَۃ ِ النَّقِيَّۃ ِ ال َُْحَْدِیَّۃِ. “ All 72 sects will be in the fire and the one sect which will be saved from the fire, will be that which will follow the pure Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Mu ḥ ammad (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and their pure dispensation will be called Al- A ḥmadiyya. ” (Mirqā t, Commentary of Mishk ā t, Vol. 1, p. 204) 2. Kalimah Shah ā dah “I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allāh. He is one and has no partner. And I bear witness that Mu ḥ ammad is His servant and Messenger. ” Kalimah Shah ā dah is one of the five pillars of Islām as stated in the following Ḥadīth: ِ َِضَِ ہللا ُ عَنْہ ُ قَال َ قَال َ رَسُوْل ُ ہللا َعَُر َ ر ِ عَن ِ ابْن ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص ِ َخَْس ٍ شَھَادَۃ ہ ُِنَِ الِْس ًْلَم ُ عَل ِ ب َ اَن ْ ل َّ اِلہہ َ اِل َّ ہللا ُ وَاَن َّ مُحَمَّداا رَسُوْل ُ ہللا ِ و َ اِقَام الصَّلہوۃ ِ و َ اِیْتَاء ِ الزَّکہوۃ ِ و َ حَج ٍِّ الْبَیْت ِ و صَوْم ِ رَمَضَانَ. Ḥ a ḍ rat Ibn ‘ Umar relates that the Holy Prophet said: “Islām is based on five pillars; to bear witness that Mu ḥ ammad is the Messenger of Allāh; to offer Ṣ al ā t (formal worship of God) ; to pay the Zak ā t (obligatory minimum requirement of financial contribution in the cause of Allāh); to perform Ḥ ajj (pilgrimage to the House of Allāh); and to keep the fast in the month of Rama ḍ ā n. ” (Bukhārī, Kit ā bul - Ī m ā n) The following Ḥadīth explains th at the Holy Prophet has forbidden Muslims to doubt the intention of anyone who recites the Kalimah, Allāh alone knows what is in the heart and mind of a person. ِ عَن ْ اُسَامَۃ َ بْن ِ زَیْد ٍ و َ ھَذَا حَدِیْث ُ ابْن ِ اَب ِ شَیْبَۃ َ قَال َ بَعَثَنَا رَسُوْل ُ ہللا ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص ِِْف ٍ ْسَْیَۃ َ ِفِْ مِن ًُلا فَقَال َ ل َ اِلہہ َ اِل َّ ہللا ُ فَطَعَنُتُہ ٗ فَوَقَع ْ ُجُينَہ َ فَاَدُرَکْت ُ رَج فَصَبَّحْنَا الْحُرَقَات ِ مِن ہ َ ذ لِک
