16 7-8 PRAYERS Prayer said after the ablution. (See Part 1 st ) ETIQUETTE ETIQUETTE OF SALAT • Perform wuzu and reach the place of worship gracefully without hurry. Do not run to join the Salat even if you are late. • While preparing for salat, contemplate on your acts of goodness and piety, which, in a manner of speaking, you will present to God, as well as sins for which you will seek His forgiveness. • If you need to go to the washroom, do it before offering the prayer so you could be fully attentive. • While offering prayers in congregation, ensure rows are aligned and all individuals are shoulder to shoulder with no gaps in between. • Fill the empty spaces to the front. • Before you start the Salat, recite the Niyyat (intention) of Salat, as it is mentioned in the syllabus before. • Offer prayers with poise, dignity and composure. Do not be in hurry or rush. • Recite the prescribed prayers carefully and attentively, giving deliberate attention to what is being said. This will help prevent scattered thoughts on other matters.
