163 relating the whole incident, begged him to pray that God may grant her guidance. The Holy Prophet saw prayed to God. Later on when Abu Hurairah returned home, he found the door of his house shut. He knocked at the door. His mother asked him to wait for a while. She finished her bath, changed her clothes, and with the words, ‘There is none worthy of wor- ship except Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger’, on her lips, opened the door. Abu Hurairah was so pleased that he ran back to the Holy Prophet saw to tell him the good news. III Once Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqaas who accompanied the Holy Prophet saw to Makkah, fell seriously ill. There was no hope of his survival and his relatives got ready to write down his will. The Holy Prophet saw came to see him. Sa’ad said to him, ‘Messenger of Allah! I am going to die in a town from where we had emigrated’. The Holy Prophet saw consoled him and said, ‘No, you will not die, if God wills’. Then he prayed three times for his recov- ery. His prayers were heard and Sa’ad soon reco vered from his illness and lived for another fifteen years.
