Two Martyrs This is a story of two Companions of the Holy Prophet saw. Their names were Zaid and Khubaib. Both of them had dedi- cated their lives to the cause of Islam. It so happened that the representatives of the two tribes ‘Adul’ and ‘Qarah’ of Banu Lahyaan approached the Holy Prophet saw and told him that their tribes were interested in Islam. They requested him to send to them some Muslim teachers, so that they could learn more about Islam. The Holy Prophet saw agreed to send ten of his Companions with them. Zaid and Khubaib were among them. When this party reached the territory of Banu Lahyaan, they found that they had been betrayed. Actually, Banu Lahyaan were arch enemies of Islam.
