had been praying to Allah for the recovery of the patient. But now he devoted himself more earnestly, with greater concentration, to prayer in this behalf, for the heart of the Promised Messiah was full of sympathy for the ailing child. . But while he was thus engaged in prayer, he received this conclusive Wahyi (Revelation): "This Taqdir (divine decree) is unalterable, and death ordained. " (Alhakm, November 17/24, 1903). Hazrat Maulvi Abdul Karim relates that when the Promised Messiah received this awful Revelation he was greatly saddened, and involuntarily these words immediately slipped from his lips: "O my Lord, if this is no time for prayer in the case, I beg to intercede for this child.
