۲۲۲ dealing with any outside committee, however well intentioned and representative, and the negotiations must take place, if the ruler so desires, direct with the Government of India۔His Excellency wishes me to assure you that he has throughout given the Kashmir question his most anxious and sympathetic consideration and has left nothing undone which in his view could lead to a peaceful and satisfactory solution of the present troubles۔He would be the last to say that all Government action has been exactly right or has been taken at exactly the right moment but he does claim that it has been with the one purpose of obtaining an early and satisfactory settlement between the Maharaja and his Muslim subjects۔He trusts that his efforts in this direction will soon begin to have effect and that confidence will be restored among the Muslim community in Kashmir۔His Excellency wishes me to thank you for the frank and candid expression of your views and opinions which will be of much value to him in appreciating and dealing with a very difficult situation۔His Excellency is assured that he can rely upon you and the other members of the All-India Kashmir Committee to use your best efforts to produce the peaceful atmosphere which will go far to assist an early and satisfactory solution۔To, Yours sincerely۔His Holiness M۔B۔Mahmud Ahmad, Head of the Ahmadiya community۔and president, All-India Kashmir Committee, Al-Faiz, 6, Lytton Road, Lahore۔
