Forgiveness 71. Mu'az bin Anas, God be pleased with him, related that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The height of excellence is that you should strengthen the ties of relationship with the one who severs them and be generous to the one who is miserly to you and be forgiving to the one who abuses you. " (Musnad Ahmad) 72. Abu Hurairah, God be pleased with him, relates that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Giving of alms does not diminish one's wealth. Allah bestows honour on, and raises the status of, the one who forgives any excess committed against him and who does not treat the transgressor with haughtiness. " (Musnad Ahmad) 53
