Intentions and Actions 1. Umar, God be pleased with him, narrates the following while he was addressing from the pulpit: "I heard the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying the following: 'Deeds are determined by intentions alone. Man will only get that which he really intends. The migration of the one who truly intends to migrate towards Allah and His Messenger will lead him to Allah and His messenger. But whoever keeps worldly objects in view will only get worldly objects. If a man migrates intending to marry a woman that will be his reward. (Bukhari) 1
