A Humble Servant Honoured by the Gracious God An Ode by the Author ٌ ْرَم ک اِنِّي ْ مِن َ الرَّحْمٰن عَبْد ٌ مُّ ٌ ْرَم ک ُاِنِّي ْ مِن َ الرَّحْمٰن عَبْد ٌ مُّ ْ اَسْلَم ْ وَسِلْمِي ٌّ مُعَادَاتِي ُسَم ْ اَسْلَم ْ وَسِلْمِي ٌّ مُعَادَاتِي سَم I am a humble servant honoured by the Gracious Lord; Opposition to me is poison whereas peace with me is a haven of safety. اِنِّي ْ اَنَا الْبُسْتَان ُ بُسْتَان ُ الْھُدٰی ٌاِنِّي ْ اَنَا الْبُسْتَان ُ بُسْتَان ُ الْھُدٰی ٌ مُتَـرَدِّم ٌ مُّصْلِح ْ صَدُوْق ٌاِنِّي ٌ مُتَـرَدِّم ٌ مُّصْلِح ْ صَدُوْق اِنِّي I am the garden of guidance; I am truthful and a reformer and redeemer. مَن ْ فَر َّ مِنِّي ْ فَر َّ مِن ْ رَّب ِّ الْوَرٰی ُمَن ْ فَر َّ مِنِّي ْ فَر َّ مِن ْ رَّب ِّ الْوَرٰی ُ ااْلَْقْوَم ُاِنِّي ْ اَنَا النَّھْج ُ السَّلِـیْم ُ ااْلَْقْوَم اِنِّي ْ اَنَا النَّھْج ُ السَّلِـیْم One who flees from me, flees from the Lord of all the creation; For I am the straight path—the path to safety. ٌ رُوْحِي ْ لِتَقْدِیْس ِ الْعَلِي ِّ حَمَامَۃ ٌ ُرُوْحِي ْ لِتَقْدِیْس ِ الْعَلِي ِّ حَمَامَۃ ٌ مُتَرَنِّم ٌ غَارِد ْ عَندَلِـیْب ُاَو ٌ مُتَرَنِّم ٌ غَارِد ْ عَندَلِـیْب اَو My soul is like a dove, a symbol of divine glorification; Or it is a sweet-singing melodious nightingale. ُم ْ فِي غَیْر ِ وَقْت ٍ عَابِثًا ک مَا جِئْتُ ُم ْ فِي غَیْر ِ وَقْت ٍ عَابِثًا ک ٌمَا جِئْتُ ُم ْ وَالْوَقْت ُ لَیْل ٌ مُظْلِم ک ٌقَد ْ جِئْتُ ُم ْ وَالْوَقْت ُ لَیْل ٌ مُظْلِم ک قَد ْ جِئْتُ I have not come to you untimely, nor is my coming idle or meaningless; I came at a time when it was akin to a pitch-black night.
