32. SAYYEDNA BILAL form of material wealth or off-spring, but he left a spiritual memorial which is unique in the world, that is Azan. The call to the prayer has been recited continuously in the world, for the last fourteen hundred years of Islam and as the people hear the call it recalls to the mind the memory of the first. Muezzin of Islam, Bilal-bin-Ribah (may God be pleased with him). . From a persecuted slave Bilal rose to a position of honour that became the envy of many a Quraish chief. But he remained totally unassuming all his life. O' Almighty Allah shower upon him your blessings, and guide us the way you guided him. . Amen.
