Response to the booklet entitled Ilh a m i Girgit 87 Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and the Ahmadiyya Community stand by, as do all other Muslims. Divine books prove that God uses the word ‘son’ as a term of endearment. In a divine context it always means, ‘I love you more than you love your sons’. Hadrat Sh a h Wali yy ull a h Mu h addith Dehlav i writes: دشہ ابدش ہچ بجع رک ارگ ظفل اانب اجبےئ وبحمابں ذ What cause is there for wonder if God refers to someone as His son instead of beloved. ? ( Al-Fauzul-Kab i r Ma‘a Fat’ h il Khab i ri f i Us u lit-Tafs i r, Sh a h Wali yy ull a h Dehlav i , p. 7, Ma t ba‘ Alimi, Lahore) Maulaw i Sahib does not seem to have come across any similar sort of verse in the Quran. One wonders about the manner in which he studies the Quran that clearly states: اوُرُكْذاَف َهّٰللا ْمُكِرْكِذَك ْمُكَءٓاَبٰا ْوَا َّدَشَا اًرْكِذ Celebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers, or even more than that. (Sūrah Al-Baqarah, v. 201) How does Maulaw i Sahib interpret this verse? The Maulaw i ’s is lacking entirely in understanding of these matters. But let us quote one who did understand these matters. One of the great saints of Islam, Hadrat Maulana Rumi rta, understood these matters well and has thrown light on them in many of his writings. He says:
