Foreword ( Radd-e-Tan a sukh ) was originally penned in Urdu by Hadrat Maul a n a Hakeem Noor-ud-Deen, Khalifatul Masih I ra. It was first published in 1891 and was included in volume II of book Ta s d i q Bar a h i n-e- Ahmadiyya. This treatise was written at a time when the atmos - phere in British India was dominated by highly charged religious polemics. Hindu pundits engaged in aggressive and well-funded campaigns to denigrate the Holy Founder of Islam s as and attack the integrity of Islam. They openly vowed to convert the Muslim masses back to Hinduism.
