Glossary 118 Tehsil ( َصیل حت ) a local administrative division which exercises financial and administrative control over the towns and villages of its jurisdiction. Ummul Mu’minin ( اُمّ المؤمننی ) literally ‘the Mother of the Faithful’. A term of respect and reverence used for the wives of the Holy Prophet sa and by Ahmadis for the wife of the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
