" 105 STRANGE POINT WORTH NOTING It is also documented in the historical records of Al- T abar i and Ibni Khald u n that: "After the war, when Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra was victorious over the rebels, some of them were made prisoners and some slaves. " 106 If the punishment of apostasy was indeed death and was in fact the reason for which Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra fought, and if despite repentance, Islam does not propose any other punishment for apostasy, then why did Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra forget this matter at that time? What right did he have to oppose an evidently clear command of the Islamic Sharia?
