He trusted in God; let Him deliver him now, if He will have him; for he said, I am the Son of God. ”† And again: “Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the Cross. ”‡ But when Muhammad (on whom be peace and the blessings of God!), the Prophet of God, who was the Perfect manifestation both of the Beauty and of the Glory of God, chastised the transgressors and evil-doers when they had become lost to all sense of honesty, morality, and even humanity, the priests of this day, who are the successors of the scribes and pharisees, forgetting the case of Jesus, cry out “Behold a man who calls himself the Prophet of God and His manifestation; he draws his sword against his enemy and destroys him. Is this his truth and his righteousness?
