78 Syed ‘Abd-ul-Q a dir Jil a n i : A great Sunni Muslim scholar and Saint (AD 1077-1166), was born south of the Caspian Sea in the area of Gilan in the northern Persia. His writings and his explanation of how to reach the apex of piety and see success in human spiritual en- deavour serve as guiding light to a great multitude.
