Appendix 4: Hygiene, Puberty, and Sex Education 179 a sin and are against the teachings of Islam. We should talk to our children about different diseases associated with unnatural sex and the chances of transmission due to it e. g. HIV, Hepatitis, STD, warts, HPV and others. The Holy Qur ’ an says: ۡ قل َ للۡمؤۡمنیۡن یَغضوۡا ۡ من ۡ اَبۡصَارہم َ و یَحۡفَظوۡا ۡ فروۡجَھم ؕ َ ذّٰلک اَزۡکّٰی ۡ لَھم ؕ َ ان َ اللّٰہ ٌٌۢ خَبیۡر بمَا َ یَصۡنَعوۡن “ Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Surely, Allah is well aware of what they do. ” A4. 6 و َ قل ۡ للۡمؤۡمنّٰت یَغۡضضۡن َ من ۡ اَبۡصَارہن َ و َ یَحۡفَظۡن َ فروۡجَھن َ و َ لَا یبۡدیۡن َ زیۡنَتَھن َ الَا مَا ظَھَر َ منۡھَا و َ لۡیَضۡربۡن َ بخمرہن َ عَلّٰی جیوۡبھن َ ۪ و َ لَا یبۡدیۡن َ زیۡنَتَھن َ الَا لبعوۡلَتھن َ اَو ۡ اّٰب َٓائھن َ اَو ۡ اّٰب َٓاء ۡۤۡ بعوۡلَتھن َ اَو ۡ اَبۡن َٓائھن َ اَو ۡ اَبۡن َٓاء بعوۡلَتھن َ اَو ۡ اخۡوَانھن َ اَو ۡ بَنی اخۡوَانھن َ اَو ۡ بَنی ۡۤۡ اَخَوّٰتھن َ اَو ۡ نس َٓائھن َ اَو ۡ مَا مَلَکَت ۡ اَیۡمَانھن َ اَو التّٰبعیۡن َ غَیۡر اولی الۡارۡبَۃ من َ الرجَال اَو الطفۡل الَذیۡن َ لَم ۡ یَظۡھَروۡا ۡ عَلّٰی عَوۡرّٰت النس َٓاء ۪ و َ لَا یَضۡربۡن َ باَرۡجلھن َ لیعۡلَم َ مَا یخۡفیۡن َ من َ ال زیۡنَتھن َ ؕ وَ توۡبوۡۤۡا َ اَیہَ الۡمؤۡمنوۡنَ لَعَلَکمۡ تفۡلحوۡن اللّٰہجَمیۡعًا ی “ And say to the believing women that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts, and that they disclose not their natural and artificial beauty except that which is apparent thereof, and that they draw their head-coverings over their
