43 HADRAT MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD AS He would recite phrases such as 1 المعطي هلل الحمد at the start of his speech encouraging the audience to spend. He would say 2 ء الألوا أنواع ِ الحاجات يقضي ی الذ ُاهلل ویَحْسِم encouraging the audience to be generous and magnanimous. And then he would say السماح حبّ أهل ی اهلل إن 3 وإِرَم أهلكَ عادًا كما البخيلين ُهلِك ی و والركم، والجُود only to encourage the worshippers to spend and line his pockets with gold and silver. Furthermore, if such a person is from among the Sufis—to whom people pledge their allegiance so that God may enable them to remain steadfast on the path of repentance; may instil faith in their hearts and plant the seed of love in them and beautify righteousness in their eyes so that their hearts are opened to deeds of righteousness, piety, godliness 1 All Praise belongs to Allah Who is the Bestower.
