50 for the Imam of the age, and it is because of them that he is able to challenge the whole world. 44 My dear 'claimant to revelation' should not be deceived by the fact that he often receives words by way of revelation. The truth is that there are many such people among my followers, and the revelations of some of them would constitute a whole book. Sayyid Amir Ali Shah, for instance, sends me a whole page of revela- tions every week. There are also women who bear witness to my claim and receive revelations in Arabic, without having learned a word of Arabic. Surprisingly enough, her 45 revelations contain far fewer errors than yours. On 28 th September, 1898, I received a few of her revelations in a letter through her real brother Fateh Muhammad Buzdar. Many other followers of mine are also recipients of revelation. One of them re- sides in Lahore. But can such revelations release anyone from the necessity of pledging allegiance to the 44 Persian couplet: Herein lie a thousand points, finer than hair; Not everyone who gets his head shaved knows Qalandar i (re- nunciation).
