CHAPTER 33 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's Magnificent Trust in God 814 َ َ ا َُ ﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦ َ ﻗَﺎل ْ هل ْ ﻢ ُ اﻟﻨَّﺎس ُ إِن َّ اﻟﻨَّﺎس َ ﻗَﺪ َ مجََﻌُﻮ ْ ا ﻟ ُ کُﻢ ْ ﻓَﺎﺧْﺸَﻮ ْ ﻫ َ ﻢ ْ ﻓَﺰَاد َّﻫُﻢ ْ إِميَْﺎﻧﺎً و ُّٰ ﻗَﺎﻟُﻮ ُﺣَﺴVُْﻨَﺎ اH وَﻧِﻌْﻢَ اﻟْﻮَکِﻴْﻞ. (3:174) Those to whom men said, "People have mustered against you, therefore fear them, but this only increased their faith, and they said, ' َ ْ ﺣ ُ ﺴ V ﻨَﺎ ُّٰ َاH ِ و ْ ﻧ َ ﻌ ْﻢ َ اﻟ ِ ﻮ ْ ک ﻴ ﻞ ' Sufficient for us is All a h, and excellent Guardian is He. " The reference in this verse is to the Battle of H amr a ’ul Asad. On the way back from Uhud, Ab u Sufy a n, the chief of Quraish planned to turn back and attack the Muslims of Mad i nah and plunder them. When the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa and his Companions received this information, H u du r sa was not afraid at all. Instead he decided to go in pursuit of Ab u Sufy a n and his army. The Companions wholeheartedly offered themselves and said with one voice, "All a h, for us is Sufficient, and an excellent Guardian is He. " 27 When Ab u Sufy a n decided to turn back and attack Mad i nah, he sent a message through the tribe of Abdul Qais to tell Muhammad sa that they are coming again to destroy and root him out. This tribe met the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa at H amr a ’ul Asad and delivered Ab u Sufy a n's message. The Holy Prophet Mu h ammad's sa reply even in this state of weakness and with the company of injured Companions, was magnificent.
