Muhammad sa The Perfect Man 715 encourage his Makkan Companions of the days of persecution and weakness. God Almighty through revelation, informed the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa of the feelings of An sa r. H u du r sa called for a meeting with the An sa r at the mountain S af a and addressed them. He said, "Are you talking that the love of my home town and my tribe has overwhelmed me?" The An sa r plainly expressed their fears. Then the Messenger of God, calming their fears, said in a majestic manner, "If I act like this, what would the world call me? I ask you, would the world remember me with a good name? My name is Mu h ammad, meaning praiseworthy for all times. You would not find me unfaithful. No doubt I am the Messenger of All a h and His servant. I left this home town for the sake of All a h, I can never return to it. Now I am your companion for life. There is no question of my residing in Makkah. Now only death can separate me from such beloved and loyal friends as you. " The An sa r of Mad i nah who due to their deep love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa had entertained these fears in their hearts, felt sad and ashamed at hurting the feeling of H u du r sa. They started to cry bitterly, so much so that they were sobbing convulsively. They said, "We take oath in the name of All a h that we behaved in this manner only for the love of God and His Messenger. We could not bear
