Muhammad sa The Perfect Man 709 of H u du r sa 's love for Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra. He says, "Once the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa and his Companions were swimming in a small pool. H u du r sa told his Companions to swim towards their friends. He instructed that they start from the opposite ends of the pool and to meet their friends in the middle. In this way everyone found his friend. Only H u du r sa and Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra were left. So he swam towards Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra and on reaching him, embraced him and said, "Me and my companion". In another tradition the words he spoke are, "I towards my companion, I towards my companion. " 15 Hadrat Bil a l ra and Zaid bin H arithah were his Companions in the difficult early days in Makkah. Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra was his companion in the dangerous journey of migration. At the time of grand victory of Makkah, the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa did not forget them. On that day on his right hand, rode Hadrat Ab u Bakr ra and on his left Bil a l ra was riding. Although Zaid bin H arithah ra had passed away, H u du r sa seated his son, Us a mah on his own mount at his back. This is how this procession, displaying the loyalties of his Companions, entered Makkah. 16 At the time of the Battle of the Ditch, the trench was being dug and H u du r sa along with his Companions was singing these prayers in a verse form.
