One is to discharge obligations of God Almighty and the other is to discharge obligations of fellow human beings. 'Inf a q' means spending or giving away. Spending in the way of All a h is closely related to discharging obligations of fellow human beings. Nevertheless apart from fulfilling the needs of the poor and destitute, spending money for education, training, publication of Islamic literature, preparation to defend the country and spending money for it, are according to the Holy Qur’ a n, considered as financial Jih a d and fulfils our obligations to All a h. In the teachings of Islam a great emphasis is laid on charity. One of the basic qualities of a believer is that he spends whatever All a h has given him. (2:4) Again the Holy Qur’ a n commands; "Behold, you are those who are called upon to spend in the way of All a h, but of you there are some who are niggardly.
