CHAPTER 18 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa as a Patron and a Great Teacher 432 time to go and offer S al a t as he had not offered S al a t properly. He said, "O Messenger of God, I cannot offer S al a t in a better manner, you teach me how to do it properly. " The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa replied, "Say Takb i r and stand straight for S al a t. Then recite the Holy Qur’ a n as much as you can recite easily, then gently perform Ruk u ‘ and stand up straight. After this perform prostration calmly, perform all the S al a t in a gentle manner. " 38 Once someone invited the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa to dinner and requested him to bring four other persons with him. On the way one more person joined them. When H u du r sa reached the house of the host, he said, "This fifth person has joined us, if you wish you allow him in, otherwise he would go back. " The host gladly allowed him in the house. 39 Etiquettes of Eating Hadrat H udhaifah ra relates that until the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa started eating, they never used to touch the food. Once they were sitting for the meal, when a maid servant came and hurriedly started to partake food. H u du r sa caught her hand. Then a bedouim came and attempted to partake food. H u du r sa also caught his hand and said, "If All a h's name is not said before eating, the food becomes lawful for the Satan.
