Muhammad sa The Perfect Man 385 went to the Jewish school of learning. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa talked to the Jewish scholars and invited them to Islam. He told them that if they accepted Islam,they would gain peace. 60 Preaching to Christians The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa preached to the people of all the religions found in Arabia at that time. He preached to the Christians of Najr a n. In the early days of Islam there was a small Christian state in Najr a n which was under the rule of Caesor of Rome. The people of Najr a n came to know of the claim of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa through the immigrants to Abyssinia, so their first delegation of twenty four members came to Makkah in the tenth year of the Prophethood and accepted Islam. 61 In Mad i nah contact with people of Najr a n was established through the letter of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa which he wrote to their religious leader, the Lord Bishop. H u du r sa invited him to Islam and drew his attention to the common values between the two religions. He mentioned the veneration which they held for Hadrat Ibr a h i m as , Hadrat Is ha q as (Isaac) and Hadrat Ya‘q u b sa (Jacob). Then he invited them to worship the One and Only God and either become Muslims or agree to pay levy for protection.
