iii In the name of All a h, the Gracious, ever Merciful PREFACE Humanity was engrossed in search of its Creator and Master when suddenly a sweet voice broke the silence of the Arabian dessert. "If you love All a h, follow me: then will All a h love you. " (3:32) In obedience to Divine command, the conveyer of this life inspiring message was Muhammad Mu st af a sa , who loved his God the utmost and was imbued in the attributes of his Master. God said about him: "Verily you have in the Prophet of All a h, an excellent model. " (33:22) His high moral values were grounded in the attributes of God. For this reason, while mentioning his love and compassion for mankind, God's attributes of 'Loving and Merciful' too, have been applied to him in the Holy Qur’ a n: 'He is ardently desirous of your welfare; and, to the believers he is compassionate and merciful. ' (9:128) Similarly All a h 'sattribute 'N u r' has been applied to the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa , "There has come to you indeed from All a h a Light and a clear Book". (5:16) This denotes his perfection and his relationship with God Almighty. In reality, the essence of the Qur’ a nic teachings is in the attributes of God.
