CHAPTER 17 The Prophet sa as a Summoner to All a h 338 was his custom, recited some verses which are recited in Jumu‘ah sermon. These verses created a deep impact on D amm a d ra 's heart and he requested him to recite them again. These verses are: ٗ ُ ٗاَحلَْﻤْﺪ ُ ﻟِﻠ ّٰ ِ حنَْﻤَﺪُہ َ ٗو َ ﻧَﺴْﺘَﻌِْﻨ ْﻣَﻦ ْ ﻳَّﻬْﺪِہ ِ اﻟﻠ ّٰ ُ ﻓَﻼ َ ﻣُﻀِﻞ َّ ﻟ َ ٗ وَﻣَﻦ ْ ﻳُّﻀْﻠِﻞ ٗﻓَﻼَﻫَﺎدِی َ ﻟ ّٰ ُ وَﺣْﺪَہ ٰ َ اِﻻ َّ اﻟﻠ َ ٗوَاَﺷْﻬَﺪُاَن ْ ﻻ َّ اِﻟ ٗﻻَﺷَﺮِﻳْک َ ﻟ ُ ٗوَاَن َّ حمَُﻤَّﺪًا ﻋَﺒْﺪُہ وَرَﺳُﻮْﻟ. "All praise belongs to All a h, we praise Him and seek His help alone. Whomsoever All a h guides, no one can lead him astray and whomsoever He declares astray, no one can guide him and I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except All a h. He is One and has no partner and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. " The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa repeated these words three times at D amm a d ra 's request. D amm a d ra was a bedouin but God had granted him insight. The message which Makkan intellectual, Abul H akam had arrogantly rejected, when God fearing D amm a d heard it, he spontaneously said, "I have heard and seen the meetings of magicians, soothsayers and poets but I have never heard such beautiful words which bearsuch profound depth. Please extend your hand, I take initiation on your hand. " D amm a d ra who came
