With a sign of his hand, he told him to stop. 36 Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra relates that when the last verse of S u rah An-Najm was revealed: ْ ٰاَﻓَﻤِﻦ ﻫ ِﺬَا َاحلَْﺪِﻳْﺚ ﺗَﻌْﺠَﺒُﻮْن َ. َوَﺗَﻀْﺤَﻜُﻮْن َوَﻻ ﺗَﺒْﻜُﻮْن. (53:60,61) Meaning "Do you then wonder at this announcement? And do you laugh and weep not?" The Companions who lived on the platform outside the Prophet's Mosque called A sha b-e- S uffah, wept a great deal, so much so that their cheeks would become wet with tears. When the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa heard their sobbing, he cried with them. Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra says that seeing H u du r sa cry they cried even more. H u du r sa then said, "Whosoever cried in fear of All a h, would not enter the fire". 37 Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra relates that during a journey he had a chance to spend the night with the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa. H u du r sa started with "Bismill a h" and began to cry and fell down due to the intensity of weeping. He then recited "Bismill a h" twenty times and every time he would fall down crying. He said to Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra ,"A person on whom the Gracious and Merciful God does not bestow mercy, is indeed very unfortunate. " 38 Sometimes he would supplicate and weep,
