CHAPTER 5 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's Fear of All a h and Veneration for Him 90 two fingers of the Gracious God. He can turn it whenever He wishes to do so. " 6 H u du r sa 's fear of God was to such a high degree that he made it very clear to his family and relatives that only their good deeds would benefit them. He himself or any relationship with him would not be of any advantage. 7 He said that if it was not for God's beneficence and mercy, he could not say anything categorically even about his own forgiveness. 8 In view of God's attribute, ‘Independent’, the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa was always apprehensive about the acceptability of his good deeds. According to the Holy Qur’ a n: َّ ِاِن ْ اﻟَّﺬ َ ﻳ ْﻦ ْﻫُﻢ ْﻣِّﻦ َ ﺧَﺸ ْ ﻴ َﺔِرَﺑِّﻬِﻢ ﻣُّﺸْﻔِﻘُﻮْن. ِ ْ وَاﻟَّﺬ َ ﻳ ْﻦ ٰﻫُﻢ ٰ ﺑِﺎ ِ ﻳ ْﺖ ُرَﺑِّﻬِﻢ َ ﻳ ﺆْﻣِﻨُﻮْن. ِ ْ وَاﻟَّﺬ َ ﻳ ْﻦ ْﻫُﻢ َﺑِﺮَﺑِّﻬِﻢ ُﻻ َ ﻳ ﺸْﺮِﻛُﻮْن. ِ ْ وَاﻟَّﺬ َ ﻳ ُﻦ َ ﻳ ۤﺆْﺗُﻮْن ٰﻣَﺎ ْ ا ٌﺗَﻮْاوَّﻗُﻠُﻮْﺑُﻬُﻢ َّوَﺟِﻠَﺔ اَﻧ ْ ـ ٰﻬُﻢ ْاِىل ٰرَﺑِّﻬِﻢ َ ر ﺟِﻌُﻮْن. (23:58-61) "Verily, those who, out of fear of their Lord always stand guard against sins. And those who believe in the signs of their Lord. And those who ascribe not partners to their Lord. And those who give what they give while their hearts are full of fear because to their Lord they will return. " Hadrat ‘ A ’ishah ra enquired about this verse and asked the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa. "Are these the people who drink alcohol, steal, commit similar sins and then
