58 words let us try to determine if Islam permits non- Muslims to preach and convey the message of their religion. Technically, the Holy Quran calls it Tabligh i , which means, to state the good points of one ’ s own religion in a positive and non-violent manner. The idea is that people become converted out of their own free choice. Objections, if any, raised against religion or its principles have to be answered rationally and calmly without breeding religious hysteria of fanatic apposition. Tabligh in fact promotes the feelings of mutual trust and good- fellowship and bridges the gulf of ignorance and distrust. God says in this connection: َّ َِّنِْ مِن ّلل م ِ و َّ عَّمِل َّ صَّا ْلِ ا و َّ قَّال َّ اِن َِلَّ ا َْلمِ َّن ْ دَّعَّا ٰۤ ا َّْ و َّ مَّن ْ اَّحْسَّن قَّو ا ْلْ سْلِمِی ََِِّّتِْ ِه َّ َلَّ السَّیِئَّة ؕ اِدْفَّع ْ بِال َّ َلَّ تَّسْتَّوِی ا ْلَّْسَّنَّة و و َّ اَّحْسَّن فَّاِذَّا الَّذِی ْ بَّیْنَّك َّ و َّ بَّیْنَّه ٗ عَّدَّاوَّة ٌ كَّاَّن ٌ ََّلِ ٌ حَِّيْم هٗ و ٰۤ و َّ مَّا یلَّقمىهَّا َِل َّ ذو ْ حَّظ عَّظِيْم َِل َّ الَّذِیْن َّ صَّبَّ وْا ۚ و َّ مَّا یلَّقمىهَّا ٰۤ ا ا َّ و َّ اِمَّا یَّزنَّْغَّنَّك ِ ؕ اِنَّهٗ هوَّ السَّمِيْعالْعَّلِيْم ّلل م نِ نَّزْغٌ فَّاسْتَّعِذْ بِا م مِنَّ الشَّيْط "And Who is better in speech than he who invites men to Allah and does good works and says, 'I am surely of those who submit'? And good and evil are not alike. Repel evil with that which is best. And lo, he between whom and i Propagating the message of one’s religion.
