~ 37 ~ Age of Igno- rance: See J a hiliyyah: Agree- ments: ‘ Ahad , And fulfil the covenant of Allah when you have made one, and break not your oaths after making them firm, while you have made Allah your surety. 16:92 A s for those who take a pal- try price in exchange for their covenant with Allah and their oaths, they shall have no portion in the life to come, and Allah will nei- ther speak to them nor look upon them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and for them shall be a grievous punish- ment. 3:78 …So whoever breaks his oath, breaks it to his own loss; and whoever fulfils the covenant that he has made with Allah, He will, surely, give him a great re- ward. 48:11 See also Covenant: Oath: Bai‘at: may be repudiated, And if thou fearest treach- ery from a people, throw back to them their covenant with equity.
